Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men are made up of men in the church who work together in Christian fellowship to serve God and the church.  They have a breakfast meeting on the first Sunday of each month at 7:00 in Poston Hall.  Members take turns hosting the meal, yet the work is shared by all.  A brief devotional and short business meeting are conducted after eating.

The UMM support various non-profit organizations and other needs within the community.  The men host a pinto bean supper fundraiser twice each year.  The men started a Lord's acre last spring in order to provide garden vegetables to folk in the church and in the community that otherwise might not have such food.  It was a tremendous success not only providing food for many and with contributions from those who recieved the food $300 was given to a local help organization. We plan to have another garden this year.

In January 2010 our project was the building of a handicap ramp for a senior citizen that needed the means to get his wheel chair out of the house.  He was so pleased that he would be able to take his wheel chair to the places he needed to go.

Our meetings are open to all the men of the church and we would certainly like for you to join us for our next meeting on February 7, 2010.  If you are new, you can be the guest of the pastor and won't be expected to help cook.
